Summer 2001 Delaware Cruise

It has been a Wanda tradition to spend some time together paddling on a summer vacation trip.  This year the Mc Loone's invited our club to share their Pennsylvania summer home in what turned out to be the hottest days of the summer.  Temperatures were in the mid nineties even in the country.  On the river, however, thanks to a hundred miles of river that cooled the headwind ,a swim every couple of miles and a slower pace than normal we had a few fun filled days.

We revised our plans to accommodate the group, and enjoyed two days of paddling from Stair Step to Fireman's Beach.  I think that section is the best combination of scenery and action on the Upper Delaware.  We found a cold water Jacuzzi at the Mongaup ledge and sat in the shade or in the water from time to time and watched the world go by.
